The great secret of power is never to will to do more than you can accomplish.

Henrik Ibsen
I have written too much too often here on my perception of power and those who aspire to operate within the white heat of its core to celebrate unequivocally what happened today. It's good to see hope returning to the hearts of decent Americans; it's good to hear human values, rights and privileges being extolled as essential components of policy; it's good to witness after so very long something of the reification of Martin Luther King's dream. But I shall watch and wait with many other deeply reluctant sceptics, wondering, in the constant triumph of hope over experience, whether this time Sisyphus will fulfill his overwhelming task.
